About

Meet John Scott Wedemeyer: a Marine Corps veteran and seasoned professional pilot whose lifelong pursuit of excellence spans decades and multiple arenas. Raised in Rockingham, NC, John’s early athletic success across team and individual sports laid the groundwork for his leadership style—focused, team-oriented, and resilient. After graduating from Richmond Senior High School in 1983 and The Citadel in 1987, he distinguished himself in naval flight training and served 20 years in the Marines as an F/A-18 Hornet pilot. Logging over 4,700 flight hours (among the highest in Hornet history) and completing five combat tours, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel decorated with Meritorious Service, numerous Air Medals (including Combat “V”), multiple Commendation and Achievement Medals, and recognition as a Distinguished Naval Flight School Graduate.
